Some research links this issue to the use of insecticides being used on corn, canola and sunflower seed production. When we take a step back and look at the big picture it's the impact of humans on this planet that are adding more and more obstacles to our health and the sustainability of a healthy planet. Cleaning bathrooms is a common topic when addressing the issue of using natural cleaners vs. bleach based heavy hitting toxic cleaners. This is a huge misconception that we must use bleach and in America we fear germs to a point where we are putting our bodies and health at risk (i.e. Triclosan in Antibacterial Soaps). Many parents and homeowners we have spoke with have a hard time giving up bleach in the bathroom. This is the one place your body is completely exposed to harmful toxins in cleaners which do more damage than the germs. A simple natural dish-washing soap, baking soda or straight white vinegar (reduces bacteria) and some strong essential oils with great antibacterial properties are the best and safest choice (Tea Tree, Lavender, Lemongrass, Citronella...). Toilets are also our direct link to our water systems. Our waterways react badly with chemicals not only polluting the water itself, but also infecting our fish with toxins.
